The 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak will be hosted by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha from May 6 to May 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, under the theme: "Solidarity and Tolerance for Human Dignity: Buddhist Wisdom for World Peace and Sustainable Development." The event is expected to welcome 2,000 delegates from Vietnam and around the world.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that the visit by the ICDV delegation reflects the strong cooperation between ICDV and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, as well as the broader spirit of solidarity and harmony among nations in promoting Buddhism’s universal values.
Most Venerable, Professor, Dr. Phra Brahmapundit praised the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for its active and responsible contributions to international Buddhist affairs. He expressed confidence that, with Vietnam’s prior experience in successfully hosting the United Nations Vesak Celebrations in 2008, 2014, and 2019, the 2025 event will further amplify Buddhism’s ethical, cultural, and humanitarian values, fostering peace and compassion within the global community.
