(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and the United States have agreed to further deepen cooperation within their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and gradually expand collaboration in potential areas such as the defense industry, maritime law enforcement, and crime prevention and control.

Co-chairing the 14th Vietnam-US Political-Security-Defense Dialogue in Washington DC on Thursday, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang and US Acting Assistant Secretary of State Fleet White highlighted notable achievements in bilateral ties, particularly in high-level exchanges and contacts, cooperation on non-traditional security challenges, and the effective implementation of projects addressing war legacies and the search for US personnel missing in action (MIA).
Both sides underscored the importance of existing political, defense, and security cooperation mechanisms as effective channels for information sharing, managing differences, and advancing practical, sustainable cooperation on issues of mutual concern.
