Vietnamese intellectuals in France pin hopes on 14th National Party Congress
(VOVWORLD) - Ahead of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnamese intellectuals in France and across Europe have voiced their hope that the Congress will mark a turning point, ushering the country into an era of intellect-driven and sustainable development.
“I hope the Congress will set out stronger orientations and create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese intellectuals around the world to contribute to the homeland,” Nguyen Van Truong, a PhD candidate in materials physics, said.

Dr. Vo Toan Trung, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation at Bullion Hospital, said that overseas Vietnamese, especially intellectuals, place great expectations on the success of the 14th Party Congress. “We hope the Congress will select a leadership team made up of the nation’s finest minds, capable of guiding Vietnam toward developed-country status.”
Associate Professor Dr. Tran Le Hung, a lecturer at Gustave Eiffel University, expected that sound foreign policy will continue to enhance Vietnam’s standing on the international stage, building on the many diplomatic achievements already achieved.
Ahead of the Congress, overseas Vietnamese express firm confidence in a Vietnam that can “stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s major powers.”
