Vietnamese more interested in spiritual tourism

(VOVWORLD) -Spiritual tourism is more and more popular among Vietnamese tourists as the number of tour bookings increased by 20% in the first month of the lunar new year, which falls in February this year and is peak time for pilgrimages, said Vietlux Travel Company.

Tran Thi Bao Thu, Director of Marketing and Communications at Vietlux said on Sunday that pilgrimage programs and visits to religious monuments and artefacts at home and abroad are one of the top choices of domestic tourists after Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).

Popular destinations are Da Lat, Vung Tau, Southwestern region, Phan Thiet, Tay Ninh, Hanoi, and Da Nang.

Meanwhile, BenThanh Tourist said that the number of participants of pilgrimage tours accounts for more than 50% of the total number of visitors registered for tours departing in the second half of February and early March.
