Vietnam’s digital economy expected to reach 39 billion USD in 2025

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s digital economy is forecast to reach 39 billion USD in gross merchandise value (GMV) by the end of 2025, according to the 10th annual e-Conomy SEA 2025 report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company released on Tuesday.

All major digital sectors are projected to sustain double-digit growth.

E-commerce remains the largest contributor, accounting for two-thirds of total GMV, and is expected to grow 17%, reaching 25 billion USD by year-end.

The report also shows that Vietnam leads Southeast Asia in AI readiness and user trust. 81% of users engage with AI tools and features daily; 83% participate in AI learning and upskilling activities; and 96% are willing to share data access with AI systems.
