“Visit Vietnam Year-Dien Bien 2024” promises endless experiences

(VOVWORLD) -Visit Vietnam Year-Dien Bien 2024 is expected to bring endless experiences to tourists, according to a press conference in Hanoi on Wednesday.

There will be 169 programs and events throughout the year in association with the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7). 

Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, “Besides historical and cultural traditions, Dien Bien offers rich tourism potential. Thanks to its strengths, the province has adopted a tourism development orientation for 2025, vision to 2030."

"Dien Bien has defined tourism as a spearhead economic sector on the basis of unlocking potentials and advantages in three main pillars: spiritual historical tourism, national cultural identity tourism, and vacation, entertainment, and health tourism,” according to Thuy. 

Dien Bien has a specific plan for tourism promotion. The provincial leaders focus not only on domestic media but also on connecting with foreign-related publications to communicate about Dien Bien's image today. We very much hope that this will be a destination for international tourists, especially European tourists,” said Nguyen Minh Phu, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province. 

A highlight of “Visit Vietnam Year-Dien Bien 2024” is the Ban Flower Festival, set to open on March 14 in coincidence with the opening ceremony of the year.

There will also be a special art program and a high-altitude fireworks display on May 6 evening and a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory on May 7.
