Its 14 industrial parks drew almost 800 investment projects, 500 of which were foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. In addition to the construction of new industrial parks, Hai Phong is establishing a coastal economic zone to the south to open up new development space for the city and connect industrial parks along the coast. The city hopes all these efforts will motivate growth of Hai Phong and the Red River Delta.
