(VOVWORLD) - Themed “Water for All”, this year’s International Day of Action for Rivers, on March 14, underlined the importance of water in every economy. 2,360 rivers and canals with a total length of 41,900 kilometers give Vietnam a great economic advantage. The transportation sector, provinces, and cities are making full use of inland waterway transport to bolster the national economy.

(VOVWORLD) -The transportation sector is accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital for key national projects, highways, inter-regional and coastal projects, and national target programs, hoping to disburse at least 95% of allocated capital. Businesses are working to ensure that key projects will be completed on schedule.

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City has set goals on green growth, towards a green, carbon-neutral economy, and targeted a 10% emission reduction by 2030. To that end, the city is promoting investment attraction in green projects and the development of a carbon credit market.

(VOVWORLD) -Since it officially took effect in January 2019, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) has facilitated Vietnam’s exports to Asian member countries and markets Vietnam hasn’t yet signed FTAs with. The CPTPP is the first new generation free trade agreement with high standards to which Vietnam is a signatory.

(VOVWORLD) - Hai Phong city attracted 3.5 billion USD worth of foreign investment last year. Its 14 industrial parks drew almost 800 investment projects, 500 of which were foreign direct investment (FDI) projects. In addition to the construction of new industrial parks, Hai Phong is establishing a coastal economic zone to the south to open up new development space for the city and connect industrial parks along the coast. The city hopes all these efforts will motivate growth of Hai Phong and the Red River Delta.

(VOVWORLD) - The first phase of the Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway project to connect the two northeastern border provinces of Lang Son and Cao Bang began earlier this month. The route will eliminate transport bottlenecks and boost Cao Bang's economic development.
