The team arrived in Uzbekistan on February 22 and played two friendly matches with the home team, resulting in a 1-1 draw and a 4-1 win.

Team Vietnam are in Group B with defending champions Japan, runners-up North Korea and China. The Vietnamese players will face Japan's U20 women in the opening match of the tournament on Monday evening (Vietnam time), at Jar Stadium, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
