(VOVWORLD) - This week we received more entries for our contest “What do you know about Vietnam?” Our 2020 contest, which coincides with many important events for Vietnam and VOV, is open to foreigners and overseas Vietnamese around the world.

(VOVWORLD) - First on our show today, we’d like to acknowledge Mr. Sanil Deep of India for participating in our contest “What do you know about Vietnam”.

(VOVWORLD) - We continue to receive entries for VOV’s writing contest “What do you know about Vietnam?”

(VOVWORLD) - We’d like to welcome to VOV Howard Guppy of the UK. In an email to VOV this week, Mr. Guppy wrote: “I was pleased to be able to listen your broadcast tonight. It is always interesting to listen to your broadcast. I like the perspective you have on global events. Thank you for your broadcast, and best wishes to everyone at Voice of Vietnam. I am located in the southeast of the UK and reported reception for the Voice of Vietnam on the frequency of 9730Khz between 22:15 and 22:50 on May 10, 2020.”

(VOVWORLD) - We’re happy to receive a letter from Webster Williams, a 61-year-old American listener who first listened to a VOV broadcast in 1972. He said it has been 47 years since the last time he heard VOV, but he remembers it like it was yesterday.

(VOVWORLD) - We continue to receive entries to our contest “What do you know about Vietnam?”, which we hold every five years.

(VOVWORLD) - VOV’s listeners have been telling us about the COVID-19 situation in their country. Jayanta Chakrabarty of India said: “As the world struggles to contain the spread of COVID-19, I take this opportunity to wish all citizens of Vietnam good health and safety. It is heartening to note that Vietnam has been able to tackle the coronavirus more successfully than many other countries due to its leadership and efficient healthcare system.”

(VOVWORLD) - We’re so happy to receive the first entry in our “What do you know about Vietnam?” contest, which is held every 5 years. The 2020 contest, which coincides with many important events in Vietnam and VOV, is open to foreigners and overseas Vietnamese around the world.

(VOVWORLD) - This week we received several letters from listeners with postmarks that indicated they took more than a month to reach our office in Hanoi. That helps to explain why some listeners have been complaining that they haven’t received a reply from VOV for their reception reports since the beginning of the year.
