In his opening address, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet said that this year's Press Festival theme "Vietnamese Journalism - Loyal, Creative, and Responsible in the New Era" accurately reflects the current needs and trends.
Mr. Quyet emphasized that following streamlining, every media organization must transform into a firm fortress for protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and a sharp weapon for countering wrong, hostile viewpoints and toxic information. The press must take the lead in disseminating the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and other strategic resolutions, effectively turning the Party’s will into public action. The press must constantly innovate and be creative, steadfastly adhering to the principle that "content is the core, technology is the tool," and upholding professional ethics and humanistic values.
Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh highlighted the festival as both a celebration of the national press sector's achievements and a bridge connecting journalists with the public.
Mr. Minh added that the words Loyalty, Creativity, and Responsibility reaffirm the foundational mission of revolutionary journalists: to remain absolutely loyal to the ideals of the Party and the interests of the People, continuously innovate and apply cutting-edge technologies, and enhance social responsibility and professional ethics in building a just, democratic, and civilized society.
Delegates officially inaugurated the festival.
Delegates visited the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) pavilion after the opening ceremony.
