Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc attended and spoke at the conference themed "Promoting the future from smart, sustainable and connected cities. He said that from its urban development practice, Vietnam realizes that digital transformation, green growth and regional connectivity are complementary pillars to improve people's quality of life and increase resilience to future challenges. On that basis, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed four major directions.

"First, I recommend that cities be resilient and people-centered. In particular, ASEAN cities need to change from a reactive mindset to a proactive one for the future, from building solutions for individual problems, to forming an ecosystem highly resilient to challenges and development. Second, mobilize and connect resources for urban development. Third, build intellectual and innovation networks among ASEAN cities. Fourth, turn commitments into action and substantive results.”

ASEAN is one of the most dynamic developing regions in the world. The strong urbanization process has turned cities into centers of economic growth, innovation and regional connectivity. At the same time, cities are also facing many common challenges. Therefore, strengthening cooperation among them is not only an inevitable need but also a driving force to realize the vision of a resilient, creative and sustainable ASEAN Community.
