Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh emphasized that over more than eight decades of national construction, defense, and development, and particularly following 40 years of “Doi Moi” (Renewal), Vietnam has achieved significant and comprehensive successes. The country has emerged as a dynamic economy with deep international integration and a steadily rising global standing and reputation, actively and responsibly contributing to peace, cooperation, and development both regionally and globally.
Regarding foreign policy, the Ambassador affirmed Vietnam's unwavering commitment to a path of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development. He highlighted the country's policy of multilateralizing and diversifying external relations, as well as its extensive and effective international integration.
Vietnam stands as a trusted friend and partner, and an active, responsible member of the international community. Within its overall foreign policy framework, Vietnam identifies the strengthening and development of its traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China as a strategic choice and a top priority, said Ambassador Binh.
To mark Vietnam's National Day, the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee organized a flower-laying ceremony in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Following the ceremony, Committee members joined a discussion on Vietnam and its relationship with India. Speaking at the event, Kusum Jain, Chairperson of the India-Vietnam Solidarity Committee, extended congratulations to the people of Vietnam on the 81st National Day. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining exchange activities, which contribute to strengthening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
