The development orientations outlined at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam cover science, technology, the environment, security, livelihoods, and development, Professor Qu said. He highlighted the need to modernize Vietnam's growth model, improve development quality, and ensure that the people benefit from economic growth.
He said: “These requirements follow the approach "Grasp with both hands, and both hands must be strong", which means simultaneously developing the productive force and improving people's happiness and living standard. In my view, this approach ensures that the Vietnamese people can more clearly experience the fruits of economic growth, which is also conducive to the country's overall development, long-term stability, and peaceful unity."
Professor Qu said he was impressed by Resolution 57 on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation and called it foundational for upgrading Vietnam's development model.
“Vietnam's development plan following the 14th National Party Congress is not simply to increase production or accelerate economic growth, but to improve the quality, speed, and scale of development. That will come from advances in science, technology, and digital transformation, including artificial intelligence, aerospace technology, modern transportation, rail logistics, and medical technology,” he added.
According to Professor Qu, these changes reflect Vietnam's balanced, scientific approach, which combines stronger governance capacity, modernization, and advances in science and technology, with the goal of improving people's lives and bringing tangible benefits to the people.
