The PM addressed a ceremony marking Vietnam Cybersecurity Day (August 6) in Hanoi on Thursday. “Cybersecurity assurance must be closely and synchronously integrated between protecting systems and protecting people, with the ultimate goal of making the safety, peace, and happiness of the people the highest benchmark for all policies. This principle also serves as the guiding philosophy behind this year's Cybersecurity Day message: "For a humane cyberspace for everyone."
PM Hung urged the entire system to remain vigilant, noting that the pace of cybersecurity assurance has at times lagged behind the momentum of digital transformation.
Limitations persist regarding digital infrastructure, human resources, and the mastery of core technologies, he added. In particular, threats involving high-tech crime, cyberattacks, online fraud, and personal data breaches are evolving in complex ways, directly impacting citizens' lives, business operations, and national security.
The Prime Minister called upon fintech companies to shoulder their social responsibilities, shift toward a human-centric security architecture that integrates built-in protection features and automated scam alerts—completely free of charge for users.
“Each citizen needs to equip themselves with digital skills and awareness, self-protection capabilities, and standards of online conduct to become a proactive digital shield contributing to cybersecurity. When 100 million citizens join forces with a shared purpose, we will forge an impenetrable digital bulwark to protect ourselves, our families, and our nation,” PM Hung said.
