The event aims to promote the Dak Lak durian brand, foster sustainable development of the industry, expand markets and exports, attract investment, and showcase the province’s culture and tourism potential.

Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, Dao My, told a press conference in Hanoi on Monday: "This is a major cultural, trade, investment and tourism event, connecting government authorities, producers, businesses and both domestic and international partners. The festival will help enhance the value of Dak Lak's durian industry, expand consumer markets, boost exports, and promote the province's investment and business environment. This year's festival will feature a range of new interactive activities, creating an engaging atmosphere to showcase Dak Lak's specialties to visitors."

The festival's opening ceremony will official take place on August 15 at March 10 Square in Buon Ma Thuot ward. Major activities include a parade of around 500 pickup trucks promoting durian, an exhibition with some 400 booths, an online durian and OCOP market, and a forum on building a sustainable durian ecosystem. The festival will conclude on September 2 with a special art programme at Phu Yen Square in Tuy Hoa ward.
