At the event titled "Vietnam Officially Joins the FTSE Russell Global Equity Index Series (FTSE GEIS)," Minister Tuan said, “Upgrading is not the final destination but a new step forward. At the same time, it sets higher requirements for the market and management agencies. In the context of global and regional financial market’s continuous changes, Vietnam continues to be proactive, flexible and ready to fine-tune mechanisms, policies and institutions for market management and supervision.”

Fiona Bassett, CEO of FTSE Russell, described Vietnam's upgrade as a significant milestone in the development and integration of its capital market. Vietnam's inclusion in FTSE Russell's global benchmark indices acknowledges the market's progress and its deepening integration with international capital markets. Furthermore, this move enhances Vietnam's visibility within the global investment community and is likely to drive an influx of international capital over time.

Currently, more than 22 trillion USD in global assets use FTSE Russell indices as benchmarks.
