The Deputy Foreign Minister talked to the media ahead of the trip which begins on Friday, saying that economically, both sides expect to boost cooperation in investment, trade, finance, and supply chain connectivity. Another focus is to deepen substantive cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, he said. Both sides are expected to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, big data, semiconductor technology, smart cities, digital economy, digital government, and green transformation.

Deputy Minister Cuong said that during his visit to Singapore, General Secretary and President Lam will deliver a keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue. The top leader is expected to convey Vietnam's views and message to other countries regarding the direction for addressing the strategic challenges facing the region, for the sake of peace, stability, and sustainable development within the evolving regional structure.

Meanwhile, Singapore's Ambassador to Vietnam Rajpal Singh expressed his hope that Party General Secretary and State President To Lam's visit would usher in a new phase of cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador said the region and the world are eager to hear the top leader’s and Vietnam's perspectives on the current geopolitical and geoeconomic situation. He called it an important recognition of Vietnam's achievements and its readiness to play a more proactive role in addressing geopolitical and geoeconomic instability.
