The drone strike was reportedly carried out by Yemen's Houthis. According to Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry, debris from the interception struck a contractor’s vehicle outside the facility’s perimeter, triggering a fire that resulted in the casualties.
The facility's operation was not affected, but in addition to the two fatalities, a Philippine and a Nepalese, two other people were injured.
The Houthi forces have yet to comment on the incident.
