Speaking at a joint press conference with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his official visit to Pakistan, President Pezeshkian stressed that lasting peace and stability can only be achieved through dialogue, trust, and cooperation.

Iran’s proposal came as many regional countries are discussing future collective security arrangements, maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, and measures to prevent a resurgence of conflict following the US-Iran agreement. President Pezeshkian also said that Iran’s missile program was not in the MoU signed with the US and never will be.

The Pakistani Prime Minister said there should be no double standards regarding ballistic missiles, saying that Iran has the same right to have them as other countries. He also told reporters that there was no mention of ballistic missiles between Iran and the United States because the issue was never on the table in those discussions.
