He said Iran won’t abandon its nuclear technology, pointing out that in previous rounds of negotiations, Tehran has shown its willingness to cooperate within the framework of international regulations and global monitoring mechanisms to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Iraq’s interim Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi said Baghdad is ready to act as a mediator between Iran and the US to help de-escalate regional tensions. In a social media post, he said Iraq supports diplomatic efforts and is ready to help resolve the crisis.

Fighting between US-Israel and Iran began in late February. Though a ceasefire was reached in early April, peace talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, have produced no agreement. While large-scale military operations have ended, economic sanctions and other pressure tactics continue as international mediators work toward a new round of negotiations.
