The decision was made after a meeting attended by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors to the United States.
“The Meeting went very well! The United States is going to work with Lebanon in order to help it protect itself from Hezbollah,” President Trump said on the Truth Social network.
He also said he hopes to soon welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, calling it as a historic meeting. Trump described the prospect of achieving peace between the two countries as "not too difficult".
