According to the Office of the National Steering Committee 515, the recovered remains include three mass graves discovered in Tuyen Quang Province. The campaign aims to recover around 7,000 sets of remains, with the Ministry of National Defense assigning specific targets to recovery units based on surveys, information verification, and site assessments.

In addition to 19 specialized recovery teams operating overseas—eight in Laos and 11 in Cambodia—the ministry has established 10 temporary domestic teams, bringing the total to 31 teams with more than 1,500 personnel.

As of July 5, DNA samples had been collected from more than 35,000 martyrs' graves, including over 25,000 that met the requirements for genetic identification, supporting efforts to identify unknown fallen soldiers.
