During the meeting, both leaders highly valued the role and importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and agreed to further strengthen political trust, enhance high-level exchanges, and promote cooperation between specialized committees of the two legislatures. They emphasized the need to expand activities of the Vietnam–Japan Friendship Parliamentary Group, as well as exchanges among young and female parliamentarians.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man noted that Vietnam’s 16th National Assembly will soon consolidate its friendship parliamentary groups, with the Vietnam–Japan group continuing to play a key role. He commended Japan’s direct investment and official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam’s socio-economic development, reaffirming Vietnam’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and favorable legal environment for foreign investors, including Japanese enterprises. He also called on Japan to continue providing next-generation ODA and to facilitate large-scale investment projects that showcase Japan’s technological strengths in areas aligned with Vietnam’s needs.

Prime Minister Takaichi reiterated Japan’s support for Vietnam’s reform efforts and development goals, affirming Japan’s desire to accompany Vietnam in its new stage of development. She highlighted plans to strengthen cooperation and exchanges through party and parliamentary channels, and confirmed Japan’s continued support in ensuring economic and energy security. Japan will prioritize cooperation with Vietnam in high-tech sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and space technology.

The Japanese Prime Minister also urged the Vietnamese National Assembly to support the early approval of agreements between the two governments on the development of the Vietnam–Japan University and on facilitating the implementation of non-refundable aid projects.
