A joint declaration issued at the Ukraine-Northern European and Baltic States Summit in Kyiv reaffirmed the NB8’s support for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia, including continued political, military, financial, humanitarian, and economic assistance.
The countries also pledged to support Ukraine’s EU accession process, including efforts to open all remaining negotiation clusters without delay in September and October this year.
As Ukraine’s energy system has suffered extensive damage, the NB8 countries will continue supporting preparations for winter, and the protection, repair and restoration of critical energy infrastructure. They called on international partners to join these efforts.
NB8 leaders further pledged to step up cooperation in the defense industry, including expanding joint production of drones, air defense systems, ammunition, and other critical defense technologies.
