Addressing the plenary session on diplomacy serving national development in the new period, the Prime Minister requested that the diplomatic sector create fundamental changes in development quality, productivity, competitiveness, self-reliance, and economic resilience. He said diplomacy must truly and strongly innovate in thinking and methods, focusing on results and final products.
PM Hung stressed a strong shift from paving the way to working side by side businesses and localities. The responsibility of the diplomatic sector and each economic diplomat does not stop at signing agreements but must extend until commitments are fulfilled, projects are licensed, capital is disbursed, and projects are operational in practice.
"Every foreign affairs official must ask yourself: after each contact, negotiation, initiative, and visit, what additional resources have we created for sustainable national development and elevating the country's global stature? If we can answer this question with specific results, Vietnamese diplomacy will certainly excellently fulfill its mission. That is a heavy but very glorious responsibility of the diplomatic sector and also a commitment to the Party, People, and Government," PM Hung said.
"Following the Government's motto of 'Action, action, and action,' 'Work, work, and work,' I propose that the entire diplomatic sector thoroughly understand that spirit and transform determination into action to successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.”
The Ambassadors' presentations at the Diplomatic Conference emphasized the importance of Vietnamese representative offices abroad in the new era. They expressed their commitment to understanding domestic development needs and maximizing strengths in their respective areas of operation.
Representatives from ministries, sectors, and localities reiterated their proactiveness and readiness to receive international resources and cooperation projects. They stressed the need to ensure that the necessary infrastructure conditions are in place to effectively receive investment and cooperation projects.
