Prime Minister Hung worked with the Standing Board of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee in Dong Thap on socio-economic development tasks and double-digit growth goal.

“Dong Thap must work on a program for double-digit growth and assigning it to departments, agencies, localities, and businesses. Specifically, what will be the growth rate for industry and agriculture? Based on such a growth scenario, how much central government budget will be allocated, and how much will be mobilized from domestic investors and foreign direct investment? Only with such quantitative targets can a detailed operational scenario be developed, ” he said.

The PM called on Dong Thap to accelerate the allocation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2026, proactively reallocate capital from projects with slow disbursement to projects with good disbursement potential and a need for additional capital.

Land clearance must be expedited, especially for key national projects in the province, he said and stressed the need to identify a new growth model based on science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, as well as the province's potential, competitive advantages, and available resources.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Dong Thap People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai highlighted some of the province's achievements. They include disbursing public investment capital from the beginning of the year reaching 18% of the plan assigned by the Government; implementing the Politburo’s Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation; and administrative reform.
