In his address, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and President of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, General Nguyen Trong Nghia highlighted the significance of the gathering, saying it’s an opportunity to honor history, take pride in the nation’s heroic past, reaffirm responsibility for the present and strengthen confidence in the future.
He stressed the importance of cherishing the values of peace, independence, freedom, and national unity which the predecessors had sacrificed to win.
He expressed confidence that today’s youth will continue to study, live with strong ideals, remain resilient, self-reliant, pioneering, and innovative; and nurture a strong aspiration to contribute to the nation’s prosperity.
On this occasion, 60 gifts were presented to disadvantaged students and young people. The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army also handed over five houses to veterans and families in difficult circumstances.
