The province is also accelerating digital transformation in the fisheries sector, including vessel registration, monitoring fishing activities at sea, and tracing seafood origins to improve management and prevent IUU fishing.
All 4,860 fishing vessels in Quang Ngai province have been registered and updated on the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase), and all active vessels have received a fishing license.
Senior Lieutenant Le Thanh Thao of the An Hai Border Guard Control Station said: “All vessels operating in the area have complete documentation. Information related to fishing vessels must be inspected by border guards in accordance with regulations before departure. While vessels are operating at sea, especially offshore fishing boats, the Border Guard Force monitors vessel tracking systems and maintains round-the-clock inspections.”
