Domestic tourists accounted for the majority of arrivals at 7.9 million, but international visitor numbers exceeded 2.2 million. Nearly 3 million tourists stayed overnight during the period.
Thanks to the surge in arrivals, tourism revenue surpassed 1 billion USD, up 20% year on year.
Local tourism officials attributed the strong performance to the successful organization of a series of events during Quang Ninh’s 2026 Summer Culture, Sports and Tourism Week, highlighted by the Ha Long Carnival 2026. The province also stepped up tourism promotion campaigns and expanded international markets, with particular focus on high-potential markets like Russia and Australia.
For the remainder of 2026, the province hopes to attract 22 million visitors, including 5.2 million international tourists, and generate tourism revenue of around 2.5 billion USD.
