In a statement, Russia’s Ministry of Defence said Russian armed forces had halted their fire along the Kherson front and established a ceasefire regime to facilitate humanitarian activities near Oleshky.

On Monday, the Russian Defence Ministry said units of the Dnepr group had been clearing mines and removing explosive devices and booby traps along the main routes into Oleshky to ensure the safe delivery of essential supplies.

Speaking to the media, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow hopes all parties will honor the agreement. He said the ceasefire in Oleshky could serve as a model for similar agreements in other areas.

The Ukrainian military said it will do everything possible to help the residents of Oleshky.
