Thai Parliament Speaker and President of the House of Representatives Sophon Zaram attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, "Woven ties: 50 Years of Thailand-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations," during his official visit to Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh said the exhibition's collection of traditional costumes symbolizes the cultural identities of both countries and the enduring ties connecting their peoples.
Ms Thanh said the bilateral relationship has been built on political trust, close cooperation between the two legislatures and governments, and decades of people-to-people exchanges.
Sophon Zaram described the exhibition as a reflection of the friendship, mutual confidence and cooperation that Vietnam and Thailand have developed over the past half century.
He reaffirmed the Thai Parliament's commitment to expanding parliamentary cooperation and strengthening long-term partnerships that contribute to the prosperity of both countries.
The exhibition, hosted at the Vietnamese Women's Museum in Hanoi, is open to the public free of charge through August 12 as part of celebrations marking 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations on August 6, 1976.
