The festival also seeks to expand domestic and international cultural exchanges, contribute to the development of Hanoi’s cultural industries, and promote the capital’s image as a UNESCO “City for Peace” and “Creative City”.

Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said this year's festival draws international art troupes and performance groups nationwide.

“International artistic exchanges, youth music programs, fashion events, and performances will create more spaces connecting Hanoi’s culture with the broader cultural traditions of Vietnam and international friends,” said Ms. Mai.

She added: “Highlight programs include a special art performance at the opening ceremony, international art exchanges, a youth music program, a fashion gala themed 'The Color of Hanoi', the 'Sounds of Pottery' program in Bat Trang ceramic village, exhibitions, interactive experiences, and cultural exchanges at multiple venues in Hanoi."

The first Thang Long-Hanoi Festival, held last year under the theme “Heritage - Connection - Era”, attracted 200,000 visitors and generated nearly 1 million social media views.
