The state visit to Australia by Party and State leader To Lam holds special historical significance as the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership enters a new phase of development with vast opportunities and potential for cooperation. The visit occurs as Vietnam promotes a shift in its development model—moving toward one driven by productivity, knowledge, science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and modern governance.
The visit represents the highest-level diplomatic activity for the Party and State, and marks the first state visit to Australia by a Vietnamese General Secretary and President. It not only heralds a new stage in bilateral relations but also demonstrates the strategic vision and determination of both nations' leaders to build an increasingly effective relationship based on trust, mutual respect, and mutual benefit.
The trip's success will generate new momentum for Vietnam-Australia relations and reaffirm the strategic value of this partnership for the long-term interests of both countries, as well as for peace, stability, cooperation, and prosperity.
During the visit, Mr. Lam is scheduled to meet with the Governor-General of Australia Sam Mostyn; hold talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese; and meet with the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia.
He will also attend the "Tech Connect" forum on science, technology, and innovation, as well as education, training, and human resource development; and meet with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Australia and several South Pacific island nations.
