The visit reflects the strategic vision and commitment of both sides to building a deeper and more effective partnership based on mutual trust and respect, while delivering tangible benefits for both countries.
Speaking to VOV, Layton Pike, a member of the Advisory Council of the Australia-Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI), said the meeting between the leaders of Vietnam and Australia “reflects the growing importance of the relationship and the high level of trust between the two countries.”
Pike described Mr. Lam’s visit as “a demonstration of the shared commitment to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and deepening cooperation in trade and investment, education, innovation, sustainable development and people-to-people exchanges.”
The visit also sends a positive signal to businesses, universities, investors and communities in both countries, he said, demonstrating that both governments are committed to strengthening long-term cooperation.
Pike noted that since Vietnam and Australia elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024, bilateral cooperation has gained strong momentum across a wide range of areas.
He said Vietnam is one of Australia’s most important partners in the region and that Australia remains committed to deepening the relationship.
Closer cooperation between Australia and Vietnam, Pike added, will contribute to a more resilient, prosperous and closely connected region.
