The meetings were part of Mr. Lam’s trip to attend the high-level general debate of the UNGA 81 and conduct bilateral activities in the US.
During the meeting with General Secretary and President Lam, Ghanaian President Mahama expressed his hope that Vietnam will assist Ghana in the agricultural sector, particularly in rice cultivation. Mr. Lam agreed with Ghana's proposals, stating that he will direct relevant agencies to implement them effectively and substantively.
In the meeting between the Vietnamese Party and State leader and the Bhutanese Prime Minister, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in healthcare, education, cultural and artistic exchanges, and tourism through various forms; to study the early establishment of direct flights between the two countries; and to promote people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders agreed to continue close coordination at multilateral forums—such as the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and inter-parliamentary forums where both national assemblies hold membership—and to foster South-South cooperation.
During their talk, General Secretary and President Lam and Vatican Secretary of State Parolin agreed to continue high-level delegation exchanges and to effectively implement the mechanism of the Joint Working Group.
Meeting with Khalilur Rahman, President of the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly, top leader To Lam affirmed Vietnam's readiness to coordinate closely and contribute actively to the President's priorities and initiatives aimed at realizing shared goals. They also exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual concern.
