The 3-day trip holds historic significance as it marks the first-ever state visit to New Zealand by a General Secretary and President of Vietnam. It reaffirms Vietnam's unwavering policy of valuing its relationship with New Zealand, a friendly partner with great potential that shares many commonalities with Vietnam in the South Pacific region. It also serves as a crucial milestone in propelling the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations toward stronger, more substantive, and effective development in the new era.
During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam is scheduled to hold talks with Governor-General Cindy Kiro and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon; and meet with the Speaker of the New Zealand Parliament. The top leader will attend and deliver a speech at the Vietnam-New Zealand Higher and Vocational Education Forum; and meet with Embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in New Zealand.
