At a meeting with outgoing Palestinian Ambassador Saadi Salama, Mr. Lam reaffirmed that Vietnam, within its capabilities, is always ready to support the Palestinian State and Palestinian people and back the efforts to obtain a long-term and sustainable solution to the Middle East peace process based on the two-state solution.
He expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s close ties, deep understanding, and special affection for Vietnam over the past 40 years, describing them as a vivid testament to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Palestine.
Ambassador Salama shared his pride of being associated with Vietnam for more than 4 decades, since he came to Vietnam as a student and later served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Vietnam.
Expressing admiration for Vietnam’s achievements in national development and the four values embodied in the Vietnamese spirit of solidarity, unity, reconciliation, and gratitude, the Ambassador affirmed that he would always carry with him the “Vietnam Story,” which serves as an inspiration for Palestine and its people in their struggle for national independence and development.
He also affirmed that, in whatever position he may hold in the future, he will continue to contribute to expanding the multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Palestine, as well as between Vietnam and Arab countries.
