It brought together 300 US military personnel and experts, along with representatives of Vietnamese agencies, to address disaster response, community health care, humanitarian assistance, and people-to-people exchanges.

Pacific Partnership is the US Navy’s largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief mission in the Indo-Pacific. Pacific Friendship, co-hosted by the US Army Pacific Command and the 18th Theater Medical Command, concentrates on humanitarian aid and capacity building in engineering, medical services, and disaster management.

Acting US Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao, in his address, said the mission is focused on strengthening local capacity so communities can respond effectively to natural disasters and emergencies.

US and Vietnamese experts will hold professional exchanges on disaster response, public health, epidemic prevention, unexploded ordnance clearance, veterinary services, infrastructure construction, and cultural exchange. The program will mobilize international resources to build the disaster response, community health care, and sustainable development.
