The statement was made by Ambassador Mai Phan Dung, Head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission in Geneva, during the plenary session of the 114th International Labour Conference organized by the International Labour Organization in Switzerland on Monday.
The ambassador emphasized that Vietnam views science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and international integration as strategic drivers of rapid and sustainable development.
To ensure AI contributes to decent work and inclusive growth, he outlined three priorities: investing in human resources and digital skills, linking digital transformation with employment and social protection, and building AI governance frameworks based on transparency, accountability, social dialogue, and international labor standards.
Mr. Dung also reaffirmed Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the ILO and its member states.
