The Vietnamese top leader highlighted the historic significance of the first visit to Vietnam by a Thai monarch in 50 years, since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1976. He said the visit marks an important milestone in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Thailand, particularly after the two countries upgraded their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025.
Mr. Lam affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its friendly and comprehensive cooperation with Thailand and wants the two countries to continue supporting each other’s development and contributing to peace, stability and development in the region.
King Maha Vajiralongkorn said he and the Thai Royal Family always attach importance to strengthening bonds between the two countries and peoples and to expanding Vietnam-Thailand cooperation in all fields. He stressed that strong bilateral ties contribute significantly to peace, stability and development in the region.
The two leaders agreed to promote effective economic, trade and investment cooperation; step up people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in education, culture and tourism; improve transport connectivity; and strengthen cooperation between localities, creating more substantive links between the two countries.
