At the event, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi called on agencies and business communities in both countries to accelerate ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) to establish a stable, long-term legal framework for investment.
He encouraged Austrian financial groups, banks, investment funds, and fintech companies to enter the Vietnamese financial market. Mr. Chi also called for greater investment in areas where the two countries have complementary strengths such as high tech, artificial intelligence, clean and renewable energy, transport infrastructure, smart cities, green finance, carbon credit markets, and the circular economy.
Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, Austria’s Permanent Deputy Minister of Finance, emphasized the potential for greater cooperation between the two countries in finance, investment, innovation, and the green transition.
She expressed her hope that agencies and businesses of both sides will maintain a dialogue, share experience, and develop more concrete cooperative projects.
