The discussion, held on Wednesday, within the framework of the 11th Review Conference of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), was co-sponsored by several countries, and attracted more than 100 delegates from NPT member states and relevant international organizations.

In her opening remarks, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highlighted the practical contributions of nuclear energy in healthcare, agriculture, industry, food and energy security, as well as climate change response.

She called for enhanced international cooperation and equitable access to nuclear technologies and applications.

Vietnam also advocated for stronger technology transfer, human resource training, and sustainable financing, while emphasizing the coordinating role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
