The visit aims to promote more substantive cooperation between the two legislatures and strengthen bilateral cooperation in defense, security and the economy, particularly science and technology and other emerging areas, in line with the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Mongolia.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu, the visit is expected to help advance substantive cooperation in areas that match the countries’ strong political ties.
The two sides also have considerable room for cooperation in mining, education and training, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchanges. Renewable energy is emerging as another promising area, particularly given Mongolia’s potential in this field.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu said: “High-level visits like have been absent in parliamentary cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia for than 20 years. The visit will create new momentum for leaders of the two parliaments, specialized committees, parliamentarians, young parliamentarians and women parliamentarians to increase exchanges and share experience in lawmaking, national governance and institutional development. They can also help accelerate the implementation of high-level agreements between Vietnam and Mongolia, ensuring that agreements signed over the years are translated into concrete programs and benefits for businesses and people in both countries.”
National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man’s official visit to Mongolia is expected to generate new, substantive momentum for the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia, while creating fresh impetus for the development and future of both countries.
