The two sides agreed to promote two-way trade and investment, encourage New Zealand businesses to invest in Vietnam, expand the scope of cooperation in digital transformation, digital trade, and cross-border e-commerce, and connect Vietnamese IT companies with the New Zealand market.

They also called for collaborating closely in multilateral mechanisms, implementing free trade agreements to bring maximum benefit to the business community, and opening markets for agricultural, aquatic, and seafood products.

Minister Hung asked New Zealand to support Vietnam in successfully completing its year chairing the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). He said he wants to continue receiving New Zealand’s experience sharing and technical assistance in preparing for APEC 2027.

Minister McClay promised to support Vietnam during its CPTPP chairmanship year, and to provide whatever assistance Vietnam needs.
