The PRAGATI-I exercise brings together 450 military personnel representing 13 countries, including Vietnam. Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense has dispatched two delegations comprising 43 service members to participate in the exercise.
Under the theme “Multinational mixed platoon-level units conducting stabilization operations in semi-mountainous and forested terrain against asymmetric and hybrid security threats,” PRAGATI-I takes place from May 18 to June 1, at the Umroi Military Training Center in Meghalaya, India, and consists of three phases.
The participation of the Vietnam People's Army in PRAGATI-I at the invitation of the Indian Army provides an opportunity for Vietnam’s United Nations peacekeeping forces to enhance professional expertise and strengthen coordination capabilities in a multinational and multicultural peacekeeping environment.
The exercise also contributes to deepening the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and India, while promoting friendship among the armed forces of participating nations.
