The workshop took place as many countries are adjusting their energy strategies to address energy security concerns, climate change, and rising electricity demand.

During the event, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet delivered a presentation entitled “Vietnam’s Nuclear Energy Development: A Strategic Vision for Energy Security and International Cooperation.”

She noted that Vietnam is developing a diversified, balanced, and sustainable energy mix, in which nuclear power is regarded as a key solution for ensuring national energy security and supporting the country’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Recognizing Bulgaria’s extensive experience in operating the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant and training nuclear specialists, the ambassador proposed enhanced bilateral cooperation in expert training, scientific research, operational management, and nuclear safety.

On the sidelines of the workshop, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also met with leaders of the University of Economics – Varna and Odessos Shipyard to explore cooperation opportunities in education, training, and high-quality workforce development.
