Speaking at a high-level tourism forum in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy PM Tra asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to quickly develop a national plan for MICE tourism and propose mechanisms and policies to attract major international MICE organizations and companies.
She also urged the development of MICE hubs linked to key transport infrastructure and international-standard conference and exhibition centers.
“The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to quickly advise the Government on implementing the Politburo’s resolution to make tourism a key economic sector in the new era. On September 3, we will hold a national conference to discuss and implement the resolution. This will open a new stage of development and help improve the country’s competitiveness,” said Ms. Tra.
Vietnam’s MICE market is currently worth nearly 6 billion USD. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has made it a priority to improve policies, attract investment, and bring more large-scale MICE events to Vietnam.
