Both sides agreed that defense cooperation is one of the key pillars in the relationship between the two countries. They expressed satisfaction with the fact that the two Ministries of National Defense had established resident Defense Attaché Offices in each country in 2025.
Both agreed to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as delegation exchanges, training, search and rescue, post-war mine clearance, defense industry, United Nations peacekeeping, cybersecurity, and responses to non-traditional security challenges.
They stressed coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums, particularly the United Nations, as well as within the framework of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Vietnam is ready to receive Turkish officers to study the Vietnamese language and participate in international defense courses in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Thang said.
His Turkish counterpart said that the Turkish Ministry of National Defense will send a delegation, including businesses, to participate in the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2026, to be held from December 10–13 in Hanoi.
