He made the remarks during a meeting with Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş on Friday, on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-152) in Istanbul, Turkey.

Speaker Kurtulmuş affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Türkiye in Southeast Asia and expressed a desire to elevate bilateral ties to a new level. He called for stronger cooperation in key areas, particularly the defense industry, logistics, and connectivity in aviation and seaports.

During a meeting the same day, Chairman Man asked Vietnam’s Honorary Consul in Istanbul, Ali Tezolmez, to continue leveraging his role and influence to help advance key bilateral priorities. These include promoting negotiations for a Vietnam-Turkey Free Trade Agreement, advocating for Turkey’s early recognition of Vietnam as a full market economy, and reducing trade barriers while facilitating Vietnamese goods’ access to Turkey’s distribution and retail networks.

Meeting with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Turkey, Chairman Man expressed hope that overseas Vietnamese would remain united, build a strong and well-integrated community, and continue preserving and promoting national cultural identity, including the Vietnamese language and family traditions.

“It is important to comply with local laws and maintain a positive image of Vietnamese people abroad. The homeland always follows and takes pride in overseas Vietnamese and their contributions to national development,” he said.
