In his remarks, the Vietnamese top leader congratulated the Thai people on their important achievements in strengthening national unity, maintaining stability and developing the country under the reign of the King and the important role of the Royal Family.

Mr. Lam said Vietnam-Thailand friendship has been built through cooperation agreements and high-level visits and also through close bonds between the two peoples.

He said: “The past 50 years have been a proud journey for us to look back on, while also marking the beginning of further progress. Vietnam wishes to work with Thailand to build substantive relations, in which the success of one country creates greater development opportunities for the other."

"I believe the younger generations of both countries will continue the achievements of previous generations and further strengthen the friendship between the two countries. I believe that with strong political trust, close people-to-people ties and the significance of the King and Queen’s visit, the Vietnam-Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to develop in a deeper, more substantive and sustainable manner," said the Vietnamese top leader.

The Thai King said the visit, taking place as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, strongly demonstrates their close bonds and continuous cooperation across fields.

He said the visit would further strengthen friendship between the two neighboring countries as Comprehensive Strategic Partners and members of the international community.
